Year Up San Francisco Intern Mock Interviews (Virtual)

Overview:
In this virtual session, volunteers will help students gain experience with the corporate interview process, offer thoughtful feedback, and guide them to excellent answers to commonly asked questions that will impress a future employer. Students will discuss their roles, their experience, and key learnings from their internship experience. The objective is to equip students with the skills to confidently answer interview questions and communicate their internship role effectively.

Volunteer Role:
As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating these mock interviews and providing constructive feedback to students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Asking professional and insightful interview questions.
• Providing balanced feedback to the students you are partnered with, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement in their interviewing skills.
• Conducting yourself professionally and wearing interview-ready attire.

How to prepare:

• Block time from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM PST on Wednesday, July 10 for the Mock Interview session.
• Reflect on interview questions you have asked or been asked, particularly questions that encourage the candidate to talk about their professional experience. Suggestions will also be provided.
• Optional: Have your LinkedIn handy if you wish to connect with students on LinkedIn and help them grow their professional network.

Schedule:
The mock interviews will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, during the Internship Seminar (3:30 PM PST to 4:30 PM PST). A detailed schedule will be provided to you in advance and your commitment during the event is greatly appreciated.
